Waste Management

We put every effort to prevent waste from entering the landfills. Working on the principles of reduce, reuse and recycle, we assist in devising a sustainable long-term plan in accordance with the SWM Rules, 2016.

Dry waste

All waste that is man-made such as paper, plastic, glass and metal pieces comes under dry waste. It is not possible to directly degrade this waste and put it into the Natural cycle.

We at Net Zero Enviro bring this waste to our collection centres, segregate it into different categories and put them through proper recycling channels so that they are made into other raw materials without hurting the environment.

We also believe upcycling is a better alternative to increase the intrinsic value and useful life of dry materials. To practise and propagate this, we have collaborated with upcycling artists and entrepreneurs.

E-waste

E- waste is any discarded electrical or electronic devices or its components. This includes home appliances, ICT devices, electronic utilities, medical equipments etc. Most e-wastes contain toxic materials such as mercury, lead, cadmium and beryllium. Majority of the e-waste ends up in landfills. This is particularly dangerous as these metals leach out toxic chemicals into the ground poisoning the groundwater and nearby sources of freshwater.

Informal sectors carry out crude methods for extracting the valuable metals and other materials while dumping the remaining waste. These process release toxins that are harmful to the environment.  These sectors mainly employ children to carry out the processes thereby putting their lives at stake.
